I have a 12 yr old Shiba and he has these scabs too. The vet said NOT to give him a raw diet as that was too rich for him but the anti-allergy food they suggest is making no difference whatsoever. He's been checked for fleas, ticks amd mange etc (not that) and has had recurrent ear infections too. Asked if was a yeast issue and told no. Hate seeing the old man uncomfortable so any suggestions would be appreciated.. Summary:

Our puppies are $1500. I can put you on the waiting list if you make a deposit.

That's all she said! If she didn't want to answer any of my questions (because maybe she didn't have time to respond to such a long e-mail) she should have told me to call her instead.

I'm looking for a very personable breeder that is willing to answer all my questions & to ask me questions to make sure the puppy is going to the right home. I've been searching all over online for the perfect shiba inu breeder in California (preferably socal), so if anyone knows of one please post!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11011354159015907261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-849890346707089331.post-17151312458721576462013-12-03T12:16:15.709-05:002013-12-03T12:16:15.709-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14614820675245811609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-849890346707089331.post-3485344090540339202013-09-13T08:52:24.000-04:002013-09-13T08:52:24.000-04:00The places where the branches split are called nod...The places where the branches split are called nodes. Nodes indicate a common ancestor between the branches that follow the nodes. So the first node seems to be between Shar-pei and Shiba, because they have a common ancestor closest related to the wolf. Since then, there has been genetic variation in the Shar-pei changing its genetic makeup, that's why it end up further in the first graph. The Shiba maintained more of its ancestral genes, which is why it remains closer to the wolf concerning genetic variation in the first graph. Does that make sense? - A student currently taking genetics, evolutionary biology, and have taken paleontolgy. This is a new development and I'm wondering the same thing. Is it a "safe" place? Reptar (my shiba) hates the bathroom because that's where he is forced to get a bath as he has issues with the hose (my fault). Very interesting and peculiar. Her sinus cavity also raises on the top of her muzzle.

My biggest concern at the moment is that I will be leaving for a visit to Japan in a week. Last week, I took her the kennel and she was displaying her allergies when I picked her up. This trip to the kennel was just a practice for my Shiba so it is not a shock when I am in Japan.

I'm taking her to the vet on Monday, but in the past that proved less than helpful. Does anyone have good information or resources about dealing with allergies for the Shiba?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05330862502666704868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-849890346707089331.post-32980123645870738092012-05-05T01:04:49.632-04:002012-05-05T01:04:49.632-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05330862502666704868noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-849890346707089331.post-51403312273845298532012-05-04T12:41:28.185-04:002012-05-04T12:41:28.185-04:00Haven't heard from you in a while, hope all is...Haven't heard from you in a while, hope all is ok with your shibas.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
