Chewed leash

Last Thursday, I just got into the office when my cell phone rings. It's Yun. It was his turn to take the dogs out for their morning walk/run. No call means no news, and no news is good news. So, something must be wrong.

He tells me the day began as usual when he set out for their morning walk/run. Then all of a sudden he notices that something is amiss as he wonders, why is Jujube so far ahead of me?

Oh no! The leash broke. Yep, she has a bad habit of chewing on her leash that we have not corrected. Luckily they were not by any major streets and Yun was able to catch her when she decided to go pee for awhile.

Lupine leashes are not indestructible. I will have to dig up the information about how to get my replacement from them. They have a lifetime warranty for this sort of thing.

Shibas are excellent escape artists.

That must have been pretty worrisome! Akira has the special power to let himself out of nomal leash clasps, he one got out at a very busy intersection and my So was very lucky to find him alive in a dead end a couple of streets down.

yikes!

our male has done that, luckily we found out while still in the car on our way to the park!

lupinepet.com has instructions under the 'guarantee' part of the website. They have a pretty fast turn around, too. Like a week maybe?

I like to chew my leash when I'm waiting for the humans to hurry up and get their shoes on. Mommy and daddy has given up on getting the flat leashes, their leash for me now is a braided leash, so I have to chew through more to fully chew through the leash. My harness has also stopped my chewing somewhat because the leash is behind me and I don't have it within view.

Let us know if you want us to send you one or two. This leash is the European type leash so it has leash hooks on both ends, so you could walk Juju and Loki together, but if you prefer to use two different leashes, we could send you two. We got them from the San Diego Pet Supply store. They come in red, blue, and black all with a reflective band thing throughout the leash. My blog has a picture of part of the leash when it's not glowing. The leash is on the thicker side, but it takes longer to chew though.

This just happened to us last weekend. Romeo was on a retractable leash and my husband had him at a friends. He took him out to pee and Romeo saw a rabbit and the leash broke in half. It was wear he had chewed on it!!! He ran around in a dark field and we finally got him when he ran up to our friends car! Its so scary! I have the biggest fear of him getting away and never coming back!! So glad he caught her!

my human bought something similar to this rope leash here: http://www.amazon.com/Aspen-Hitch-Mountain-Leash-Black/dp/B00283Q1AU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1242184823&sr=8-3

it's pretty durable and i can't seem to chew through it completely. good luck on finding a new leash!
