Going to the vet

We went to the vet today. Fun times. Fun times.

Here's Loki in the waiting room. What a good boy! Nice and calm.

Here we are in the exam room. His tail was down and he was shaking practically the whole time. I put some treats down for him.

At first, he was too afraid to even eat the treats, but finally he succumbed and chowed down.

In the end, the vet had to use a muzzle and we had a vet tech help hold him too. We got his nails done, got some shots, and a general check up. No screaming, but lots of shaking. When the vet tech put Loki back down and took the muzzle off, Loki put on the biggest smile ever. He was super cute and so happy to be done.

Aww poor Loki, Akira has the same problem when he goes to the vet. Fortunately we've found a rural vet that's not afraid of him seems to be toning down.

Romeo always is scared to death when we go to the vet! I hate making him go because he is so scared. He SCREAMS when he gets his toe nails done and then smiles when we leave too! Your shibas are precious!

Cynthia -- Thanks for sharing! I'm glad you found a vet that works for you.

Julee --
I thought Loki was going to scream, but he didn't. The screaming is the worst; they'll scream even if nothing is actually happening or hurting. Shibas can be so melodramatic.

We have the shaking, and moaning and sometimes shrieking. Kimiko turns into something weasel-like if there is anything involving front-paws! Fortunately the vet knows the drill! her file for Kimiko says "MUZZLE! MUZZLE! MUZZLE!" at the top, with the required size noted!
